Family Faith Talks Conversation Starters:
October 28 Family Faith Talk: What did David find for his sheep to eat? (Green grass.) For the sheep to drink? (Water.) David helped his family by caring for their sheep. David showed God’s love by helping others. We can show God’s love by helping others, too! What have you done today to help someone?
November 4 Family Faith Talk: What was the job David’s father, Jesse, asked him to do? (Take food to his brothers in the army.) David showed God’s love by helping his father and brothers. When we help the people in our families, we show God’s love, too! What is something you can do today to help the people in your family?
November 11 Family Faith Talk: How did Jonathan show his love for his friend David? (Gave him a coat. Gave him a bow and arrow.) Giving gifts is one way Jonathan showed God’s love and kindness to David. We can show God’s love and be kind to our friends, too! How can you be kind to your friends at church today? (Share toys. Give a hug. Say nice words.)
November 18 Family Faith Talk: Where did David and his friends find King Saul and his soldiers? (Asleep on the ground.) David was king to King Saul, even though it must have been very hard. It’s not always easy to be king to others. God will always help us to be kind. When might it be hard to be kind to others? (When others say mean things. When others do mean things.)
November 25 Family Faith Talk: How did David help Mephibosheth? (David asked Mephibosheth and his family to come live at the palace.) David showed God’s love by helping Mephibosheth. When we are kind to people who need help, we are showing God’s love, too! What can you do today if someone falls down on the playground? (Get a teacher to help. Help the person stand up again.) It is good to help others. That’s a way to show God’s love.
