Family Faith Talks Conversation Starters:

June 11 Family Faith Talk: How did Miriam show love to her family? (She helped take care of Moses, she watched out for him until the king’s daughter found him, and she helped her mother so that she could take care of Moses for the king’s daughter.)

June 18 Family Faith Talk: To whom did God give the rules to on top of the mountain? (Moses.) There were ten rules; what were some of the rules? (Love me. I am God, honor your father and mother, always tell the truth, and do not steal.) Why did God give us rules? (God gave us rules because he loves us.) Pray together, thanking God for His rules and for loving us.

June 25 Family Faith Talk: What was the special job that God had for the people? (to build a tent church). What did Moses tell the people that they could bring to help build the church? (wood, gold, sparkling stones, yarn, and oil). Did they have enough materials to build the church? (Yes. They had more than enough).

July 2 Family Faith Talk: What did Moses send the 12 men to do? (to look at the land that God said he would give him.) What did the men find on the land? (grapes, figs, and other fruit.).  When the men came back, they said that the people on the land were too strong and they were afraid to go back, but what did Joshua and Caleb say about the land? (The land is special and that God wants to give it to them. God will help them.”

July 9 Family Faith Talk: What problem did Ruth and Naomi have? (They needed food.) What idea did Ruth have? (pick up grain for food.) How did Ruth help Naomi? (Picked up grain so they would have food.) Pray, thanking God for families who love and help us.

July 16 Family Faith Talk: What did Hannah want very much? (a baby) What did Hannah do at church? (prayed) What did Hannah find out after she returned home? (That she was going to have a baby.) What did she name the baby? (Samuel.)

July 23 Family Faith Talk: How did Jonathan show that he was thankful to be David’s friend? (He took off his robe and belt and gave it to David. Then he gave his bow and arrow.) How can you show love to your friends? (helping them, sharing, etc.) 

July 30 Family Faith Talk: What was David’s special job? (Taking care of his father’s sheep.) Three of David’s brothers were in the king’s army. What did David’s father have him do? (Take loaves of bread and grain to his brothers and find out how they were doing. He also took cheese to the army commander.) Comment on how David did everything his father asked him to do.

August 6 Family Faith Talk: Who did Daniel pray to? (only God.) We can pray to God, too, and He will help us. What can we say when we pray to God? (We love You. Thank You. Please help us.)
