7 Frequently Asked Questions About Visiting On Easter

Thank you for visiting us at Dawson.  We’d be honored to have you as our guest!

What should I wear?

At Dawson, you’ll see all styles of dress. Some guys will wear a suit and tie and some ladies will wear dresses. You may even see some people wearing jeans. We say, choose an outfit you already own, one you feel comfortable in, and just join us.

What can I expect?

On Easter Sunday, we will have a wonderful worship schedule planned by our Music and Worship Team. Each service will have a blend of songs and music that all ages can enjoy. We will sing, pray, and then Pastor David will share a message about truth, grace, and hope. We will sing another song and then Pastor David will offer some final words and a benediction.

Will you embarrass me?

Absolutely not!  Our goal is to create an environment that is comfortable for all. You WILL NOT be singled out as a visitor. We don’t make visitors stand or raise their hands. We will invite you to fill out a card so we can get to know you better.  If you’d like to fill out that card now, please click here.

How long will the service last?

Easter Sunday is a special time for the Dawson Family of Faith.  We typically have three worship services, 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m., and 11:00 a.m., but for this Easter Sunday, we have added a fourth service at 7:00 a.m.  Each service is planned for roughly an hour. You can find more information on attending one of our Life Groups here.

What time should I arrive?

We suggest you arrive a few minutes early for the 8:30 a.m. service.  Maybe even as many as 10 or 15 minutes early for the 9:45 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. services to provide ample time for parking. Our Parking Deck, located across from the Sanctuary, is the best place to park. It is also very easy to exit, so don’t worry about being trapped after the service. Every Sunday, our Traffic Officers keep traffic on Oxmoor Road moving quickly for arrivals and departures.

If you would like to attend one of our Life Groups at 9:45 a.m., give yourself plenty of time to stop by our Arendall Welcome Center so a Greeter can personally escort you to a Life Group. If you have children attending with you, you will also want to have enough time to take them to our Children’s Check-in area, especially if this is your first time to visit Dawson.

Do you have something for children?

Absolutely! Preschoolers, as well as kids 1st through 5th grade, have their own activities designed especially for them during the 9:45 Life Group hour. They will enjoy a worship experience that will engage them at their level. Experience has shown us that the children truly enjoy this time just for them, but please feel free to bring your children with you to the worship service if that is more comfortable for your first time at Dawson. Middle and high school students are invited to attend the 9:45 Life Groups with our Student Ministry.

Do you have accommodations for individuals with special needs?

Yes! Visit our Special Needs Ministry page for more information.

Can I only come this one time?

Yes! There is no obligation beyond Easter Sunday.  However, we would love for you to fill out a Guest Card so someone can follow up with you in person. By filling out a card, you are able to let us know how you prefer to be contacted (phone, email, text, etc.). There is absolutely no pressure to ever come again, but we really hope you do. And, if you’d like to know more about Dawson, we would love for you to attend our next Discover Dawson class on April 18 at 11:00 a.m. This is a great way to learn a lot about our church family in a short amount of time on a Sunday morning. If you like to register for Dawson Dawson now, please email Liz Cuenin at lcuenin@dawsonchurch.org.
