Alzheimer's Conference for Caregivers

You are invited to an informative, inspiring, and power-packed program dealing with Alzheimer's Disease.  Miller Piggott, Director of Alzheimer's of Central Alabama, will be our guest speaker.  When someone has memory problems, communication can become a challenge.  The speaker will give us useable information on the "do's and don'ts" when communicating with someone who has dementia.

As part of the conference, we will have a special screening of the film "Alive Inside," which won the Audience Award at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.  This stirring documentary demonstrates music's ability to impact our memory.  We know music stirs the soul, but can it also stir memories for those with dementia?  After viewing the film, caregivers will be introduced to two unique opportunities that we hope will be helpful for their loved ones.

The Conference is provided by the Health and Wellness Ministry at Dawson and Alzheimer's of Central Alabama.  The conference is Free but reservations are required so that we can ensure adequate materials and handouts are prepared.
