Midweek Study

Apostles' Creed

Wednesdays beginning September 7, 11:00 a.m. & 6:00 p.m., Social Hall

“I believe.” These two words are among the most meaningful words any person can utter. The Apostles’ Creed has shaped and guided Christian faith for almost two thousand years. But do we know what it really means—and how it applies to us today? In this study, Pastor David will walk line-by-line through each section of the Creed, revealing its rich truths. The Apostles’ Creed is an often-overlooked treasure that contains the power to shape us for vibrant and steadfast living, equipping believers to live faithfully in today’s culture.

Prayers That Please God

Join us in room 254N on Wednesday evenings beginning September 7 at 6:00 p.m. for Prayers that Please God.

Do you want “to pray bigger and pray better?” The prayers of Jesus and his Apostles teach us by the Spirit what prayers are in the will of God. In this class, Dr. Ken Mathews, retired Professor of Divinity, Beeson Divinity School, will focus on Jesus’ John 17 prayer and on prayers from Paul’s epistles. We will dig deep into how we can learn and grow in our prayers and in our relationship with Jesus. Click here to register.

Written in an engaging and practical tone, this thought-provoking work seeks to transform and enrich the Christian understanding of God. This guide leads readers into a greater understanding of God while providing advice to gaining a closer relationship with him as a result. Ephesians Evening Session

Join us in room 257N on Wednesday evenings beginning September 7 at 6:00 p.m. for Ephesians.

This is an inductive Bible study of the Epistle of Paul to the Ephesians. Why Ephesians? Kay Arthur, Co-founder of Precept Ministries International, writes: “Before Paul even hints at how believers should live, he lays a rock- solid foundation: who we are in Christ! Learn who and what you are in Christ and you’ll want to walk God’s ways the rest of your life!” This letter, written to “the saints who are at Ephesus, and who are faithful in Christ Jesus,” serves as Paul’s reminder to the Ephesian believers of what he had taught them during his 3+ years of ministry with them. Today we are in need of these same teachings and reminders of both biblical doctrine (Chapters 1–3), and Christian behavior (Chapters 4–6). Click here to register.

God of Deliverance

Join us in room 254N on Wednesday mornings beginning September 7 at 9:30 a.m. for God of Deliverance: A Study of Exodus 1-18.

“Blessed be the Lord, who has delivered you.” Exodus 18:10. In this 10-session, verse-by-verse study of Exodus 1–18, Jen Wilkin shows us that Israel’s story is our story: the same God who delivered Israel also delivers all those He loves from the bondage of sin and from enslavement by the pharaohs of this world. He lifts our eyes to the promised land that He has already prepared. There we dwell with “I AM” and worship Him as the one true God. Click here to register.
