Kathleen Whaley

Kathleen grew up in Huntsville as a music minister’s daughter, meaning being at church has always felt like being home. She moved to Birmingham following college and along with her husband, Chris, has called Dawson home since 2012. A journalism graduate of Auburn University, she worked in publishing as a writer and editor for lifestyle magazines for nearly a decade before stepping away to be home with her young children.
Kathleen most recently spent four years as a preschool teacher at Dawson Day School and currently helps teach the Immerse fitness class in Dawson’s FRC. Kathleen has also enjoyed teaching and serving through the years in Dawson’s Preschool and Kids ministries. Her two sons, Samuel and Hudson, keep her busy running from one activity to the next, but in her spare time, Kathleen enjoys gardening, cooking and baking, being active, and spending time outdoors.
