Sermon Title: A Perfect Meal For Imperfect People

Scripture: Mark 14:1–25

This week, Pastor David explained that the Last Supper is framed with two home encounters that give us insight into the significance of the meal. The key truths centered around:

1.    A Portrait Of True Adoration

2.    A Portrait Of Lasting Rebellion

3.    A Portrait Of A Perfect Meal

Going Deeper:

  • Pastor David said that Mary’s anointing of Jesus was a pure act of love, impractical in every way, showing that there is no aspect of her life she isn’t willing to give to Him. Is there any aspect of your life that you are unwilling to give completely to Jesus? Explain.
  • We see from Judas’ motivation and actions that proximity to Jesus does not equal intimacy with Him. How can you be sure that you are experiencing true intimacy with Jesus each day?
  • When Jesus presented Himself as the Passover lamb in the upper room, He was saying that His blood covers the doorpost of every heart that accepts Him. What is your response to the Last Supper—true adoration or lasting rebellion?
  • At the end of worship this morning, Pastor David shared that he wanted us to do two things: #1, run to Jesus; and #2, no matter what we face, go back to #1 (run to Jesus). How can you do this in the week ahead?
