Sermon Title: Divine Death Threats

Scripture: Exodus 4:24–26

 

This week, Pastor David continued the sermon series from Exodus by looking at Moses’ disobedience to the command to circumcise his son.

   

Going Deeper:      

 

1.     By not circumcising his son, Moses showed he had clearly grown distant from his spiritual heritage. Describe a time in your life when you were distant from your spiritual heritage. What was the result?

 

2.    Pastor David shared that the reality and consequence of sin is non-existent in our culture and is only whispered in churches in North America. Most of us tend to deal with our sin by either justifying it or ignoring it. How have you found these statements to be true?

 

3.    Pastor David spoke of our tendency to magnify God’s love and minimize the consequences of sin. In what ways have you resisted that tendency and acknowledged God’s hatred of sin?

 

4.    In this Old Testament picture of our own salvation, Moses’ life was saved because of someone else’s obedience. When we trust Jesus as our Savior, we are covered by His blood. Have you trusted Jesus for your salvation? If so, with whom do you need to share this good news?
