The Call To Generosity
Exodus 35
This week, Pastor David began a new sermon series entitled Faithful Together. In this first message, he shared two truths about generosity:
- True generosity is always a matter of the heart.
- True generosity inspires sacrificial giving.
GOING DEEPER:
-
Following years of captivity in Egypt, the people of God were freed by God’s power and grace. Despite their sin, God invited them to build a tabernacle. The people responded with one reaction: gratitude. They saw their participation as a privilege, not a duty. How have you experienced God’s grace and generosity? How do you express your gratitude?
-
As Christians, we are the temple of the Holy Spirit—the Spirit of the Living God—so we can worship Him anywhere and everywhere. Where are your favorite places to worship God? Describe.
-
Pastor David shared that the generosity of the ancient people of God began with a heart that was stirred by God’s grace and mercy. True generosity is always a matter of the heart, never motivated by guilt. If you are a member of Dawson, will you commit to join us in praying for unity and clarity in our Faithful Together campaign? Will you visit the prayer stations around our church to find out how to pray specifically?
-
True generosity inspires sacrificial gifts. Even though there are many types of gifts, every gift matters. For us to reach and exceed our goal, it will not be through equal gifts, but it will be through equal sacrifice. God is able to do all things—exceedingly, abundantly more—but will each of us chose to be generous?
