Sermon Title: From Bad To Worse

Scripture: Exodus 4–6

This week, Pastor David continued the sermon series from Exodus by looking at Moses following God’s call to visit Pharaoh. 

Going Deeper:      

1.  Following God isn’t a guarantee of success or even a promise that the things around you will always get better. Think of a time in your life when things have gone “from bad to worse.” What was your relationship to God during that time?

2.  The response of the people and the resulting consequences of Moses’ visit to Pharaoh caused Moses to cry out, “Why did you ever send me?” How do you respond when something you feel God has called you to do fails or doesn’t look the way you thought it would?

3.  Of William Carey, Pastor David said, “All the obstacles didn’t negate God’s call on his life.” What is something you are experiencing now that makes you question God’s call for you? Talk to God about what His next steps for you are in that situation.

4.  Pastor David encouraged us to take heart because, if God can accomplish the salvation of the whole world through the death and resurrection of His Son, you can trust Him to lead you through the rough places and failures in your life. How can you embrace this truth more fully as you walk with the Lord this week?
