Sermon Title: Fruit Of The Spirit: Love

Scripture: Galatians 5:22–23

 

This week, Pastor David began a sermon series, Cultivated In His Character, from the book of Galatians. Specifically, we looked at:

Going Deeper:

  1. In Galatians 5, Paul contrasted the works of the flesh, verses 19–21, with the fruit of the Spirit, verses 22–23. Which of these do you “feed” most in your daily life? Explain.
  2. Pastor David said that the fruit of the Spirit is not a menu that we can choose attributes from. Rather, all of us should exhibit all of these characteristics. How does that encourage you?
  3. God is invisible but is made visible in the way His children love others. God chose His children to serve as the billboards for His love. What is your billboard telling others about God?
  4. Pastor David described the reason for the exponential growth of Christianity after Jesus’ death and resurrection was the way they cared for each other and for non-believers alike. Who do you need to show this kind of “reckless love” to during the coming week?

Temperance, love in harness and under Christ's control.

The Christ is love in person, and love, Christ in the soul.
