Sermon Title: The Passover

Scripture: Exodus 12

This week, Pastor David continued the sermon series from Exodus by looking at the Passover.

Going Deeper:

1. Think about the first time you remember encountering death. Describe the feelings or thoughts you remember having at that time.

2. Pastor David shared that the details in Exodus 12 seem so strange to our modern ears. What is the significance of the lamb as a substitute for the child? How does that sacrifice help you understand Jesus’ sacrifice in the New Testament?

3. How did John the Baptist describe Jesus in John 1:29? What comfort do you find in John’s declaration of Jesus as “the Lamb” of God not “a lamb” of God?

4. The first and last question Pastor David asked was “Who is your hope in life and death?” If Jesus is your answer, how do you describe what that hope means in your life? Do you have that hope? If not, would you like to have it?
