Sermon Title: Who’s In Charge?

Scripture: Exodus 7–10

This week, Pastor David continued the sermon series from Exodus by looking at the purpose of the plagues and the hardened heart of Pharaoh. 

Going Deeper:      

1.   Pastor David shared that the plagues were “billboards” displaying the glory and power of God (see Exodus 9:14,16). How did these plagues accomplish God’s purpose?

2.   Pastor David described the hardening of Pharaoh’s heart as a divine paradox; not a puzzle we have to figure out, but a truth we bow before. How does this paradox challenge you? How does it comfort you? Describe the ultimate paradox we see in the Bible.

3.   Pastor David shared that the spirit of Pharaoh lives in all of us. In what way(s) do you see a spirit of defiance and disobedience in your life?

4.   Pastor David’s final question was, “Who is in your charge of your life?” If you answered “Jesus,” how is your life different, this week, this month and this year, because of Jesus’ presence and guidance in your life? What can you do to allow him to guide your thoughts, finances, family, and work this week?
