Sermon Title: The Best Is Yet To Come

Scripture: Ruth 4

This week, Pastor David concluded the sermon series from the book of Ruth by exploring the truths about God represented in each character in the story:

1. Ruth reminds us that God rewards those who faithfully seek Him.

2. Naomi reminds us that bitterness doesn’t have to be the last word in the life of the believer.

3. Boaz reminds us of a greater kinsman redeemer.

4. Obed reminds us of God’s providential hand at all times and in all places.

Going Deeper:

1. Ruth’s story reminds us that God rewards those who faithfully seek Him. Naomi’s story reminds us that where you are now is not where you will be forever; God is still writing your story, and His pen never runs out. How do these lessons give you courage to face the future?

2. Boaz gives us a glimpse of the true and perfect kinsman redeemer, Jesus.  Have you allowed yourself to be redeemed by Him? If not, what is holding you back from His free gift given for you?

3. How do Ruth and Obed show God’s character and attention to our lives, even in the middle of uncertain and difficult circumstances? As we celebrate Thanksgiving this week, what are you most thankful for in these days?

4. Pastor David shared that the Bible clearly teaches that the best is yet to come for the believer: eternity with our Savior in the presence of God. In these unusual days, how does this truth give you comfort and hope?

Additional Discovery:

Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18

Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen. ~ Jude 24–25
