Sermon Title: Running The Race Of Faith

Scripture: Philippians 3:10–16

  

This week, Pastor David continued the sermon series from Philippians with a look at the the pursuit of Jesus. He reminded us that:

  1. Pursuing Jesus Requires A Holy Realization That None Of Us Are In Perfect Spiritual Shape (verses 10–13).
  2. Pursuing Jesus Requires A Forward Focus On The Race Ahead Of Us (verses 13–14).
  3. Pursuing Jesus Requires A Holy Anticipation Of The Finish Line Before Us (verse 14). 

Going Deeper:

  • Think about your spiritual journey. When and how has spiritual complacency and/or comparison kept you from pursuing Jesus completely? Explain.
  • Do you find that your past sins or spiritual successes keep you from pursuing Jesus passionately? What is one thing you can do this week to maintain a forward focus in your pursuit of Him?
  • In verse 14, Paul shares that the goal of the Christian race is “the prize of the upward call of God." How are you encouraged by knowing that our finish line is Heaven?
