Following Governor Ivey’s May 8, 2020 press conference allowing churches to gather while practicing guidelines from the CDC, below are updates regarding Dawson ministries and office operations.
Sunday Worship Gatherings In The Coming Weeks:
We will continue to allow state and local guidelines, and CDC recommendations to inform our plans for resuming in-person worship gatherings.
We will continue to worship exclusively online on through Sunday, June 7. The service is available beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings.
We are currently collaborating with staff, lay leaders, and other area churches to determine best practices for resuming on-site worship services. We are planning to resume on-campus worship gatherings on Sunday, June 14.
We will resume with three identical worship services in the Sanctuary at 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., and 11:00 a.m.
- Our Hispanic congregation will resume worship in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, June 14.
Life Groups, Ministry Events & Activities:
Until further notice, all Dawson Life Groups, Bible Studies, and Discipleship groups will continue to meet virtually as we seek to maintain a standard of wise and careful health considerations, and adhere to the CDC’s recommendation for social distancing and Dawson’s Child Protection Policy.
Summer camps and activities will look different this summer. Information about events and activities that are happening can be found at www.dawsonchurch.org/summer.
Family Recreation Center
- We will continue to allow state and local guidelines, and CDC recommendations to inform our plans for reopening the Dawson Family Recreation Center. We will collaborate with local YMCA and other fitness facilities to help guide our decision to reopen. Currently, we plan to reopen the Family Recreation Center with limited hours on Monday, June 1.
James 1:5 says, If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him. Thank you for continuing to pray for our church leadership as they seek wisdom from God on how we can gather together again as a church family.
