Welcome to Prayer!
We are so excited that you are joining us on this journey to pray together! During a time when we are being encouraged to distance ourselves physically, we are considering creative ways to gather for prayer. Your best resource for safe and healthy gatherings will always be the Center for Disease Control (CDC). In addition, here are Dawson-specific social-distancing guidelines. The most important rule: safety first!
The New Testament tells us that God is “able to do immeasurable more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us (Ephesians 3:20). Those words ask and imagine are plural: The idea here is that we will be asking and imagining together, which was the earliest practice of the church, where “they all joined together constantly in prayer” (Acts 1:14). And because His power is at work within us, our loving and faithful Father is waiting for us to seek Him together so that He can work through us and move in ways that reach far beyond anything we could conceive on our own.
-James Banks, Praying Together
Whether you are praying with others in person, over the phone, prayer walking, or meeting virtually, we desire to encourage one another to “seek first His kingdom and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33). May we “approach God’s throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).
EQUIPPED AND EMPOWERED
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, it encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” Hebrews 10:24–25
