God's Story

God’s story is recorded within the pages of Scripture, throughout history, and even within our very lives. His story can be told through these four keywords: Creation, Fall, Rescue, and Restoration.

CREATION: How Did It All Begin?

In the beginning, God created the world the way it is supposed to be. A world where everything works together in perfect harmony.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. -Genesis 1:1

Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever you had formed the earth and the world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God. -Psalm 90:2

THE FALL: What Went Wrong?

Disobedience (sin) entered into the world which resulted in what the world became and is today.  Separation from a Holy God and death to every living creature.

None is righteous, no, not one. -Romans 3:10

Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses, and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. -Romans 3:19

THE RESCUE: Is There Any Hope?

Promise Made – God made a promise to send a Rescuer to save us from a sin-filled world and eternal death.

Promise Kept – God kept this promise by sending his son, Jesus, to save us from our sin and by giving us eternal life to all who believe and follow Him.

For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit. -1 Peter 3:18

Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live. -Galatians 1:4

THE RESTORATION: What Will The Future Hold?

God, the Creator of the universe, has promised that one day there will be a new heaven and a new earth.  When this happens, there will be no more curse and God’s people (those who accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior) will live with Him forever and ever in perfect harmony.

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth...God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away. -Revelation 21:1, 3-4

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. -Ephesians 2:8-9

God is inviting you to be part of the story He is writing throughout the ages to come. He is offering salvation to you today, which is your invitation to the rescue God offers.

You can embrace the rescue of God by simply:

  • Admitting your need to God.
  • Asking Him to forgive you.
  • Trusting in Jesus alone to rescue you.
  • Following Jesus Christ as the King of your life, in faith, from this day forward.

The Bible is the story of God's love and faithfulness to His people. It provides encouragement, instruction, warning, and correction that will help you make sense of your life. As you read it, ask God to show you something you can apply to your life. If you're not sure where to begin, start with the Gospel of Mark in the New Testament.
