Acts: Waiting

Acts 1:15–26

This week, Pastor David continued the sermon series on the book of Acts with a message on seeking God's will. He reminded us to:

  1. Seek God's Will Through His Revealed Word
  2. Wisely Consider The Options Before You
  3. Seek God For Clarity Through Prayer
  4. Trust In God's Sovereignty As You Move Forward In Your Decision

GOING DEEPER:

  • Pastor David shared that God desires to teach us to make decisions that glorify Him, lead to our flourishing and the flourishing of those around us. How do you see this coming true in your own life?
  • Peter and the early Christians didn't rely on thoughts or feelings when seeking to replace Judas. What did they rely on?
  • How does the Bible encourage and anchor you in changing and uncertain times? Are you submitting to His word? When do you engage with the Bible, and how can you make more time for study and reflection?
  • Instead of obsessing and overanalyzing our decisions, Pastor David said we can trust God’s sovereignty in our decision making after we plan, pray, and seek wise counsel. Do you find yourself in a pattern of obsession over decisions? If so, how can you practice trusting God more fully with your future?
