What's Happening

NEW CHURCH YEAR BEGINS NEXT SUNDAY

Many see the start of a new school year as the beginning of a “new” year. This time of year is also a good time for adults to take their next step and connect with a Life Group. Adult Life Groups offer spiritual growth opportunities for adults of all ages and stages of life. These Sunday morning Bible studies present God’s Word through discussion and relevant application. Life Groups also provide opportunities to build meaningful relationships with other adults who have a desire to engage the Bible and apply its truths to their daily lives. Do not wait to get involved in one of the many Life Groups available at 8:30, 9:45, and 11:00 a.m. each Sunday morning. Let us help you find the group that is right for you!

MEALS FOR THE LEARNING CENTER

Classes will resume at The Learning Center this August. One of the ways we provide for our students is ensuring they don’t try to learn on an empty stomach! By serving lunch each class day, we meet the physical needs of our students and make it easier for them to find success in the classroom. If you would be interested in serving this ministry by providing lunch for our students, you can sign up using our Take Them A Meal list at dawsonchurch.org/tlclunch. Specific needs and suggestions for meals are provided on the Take Them A Meal site.

AUGUST BOOK REVIEW Monday, August 21, 10:00 a.m., 100 West

For our August book review, Dr. Don Wilson will talk with us about the book God in the Foxhole by Charles W. Sasser. This is a stunning collection of miracles on the battlefield from the Civil War through World Wars I and II, Korea and Vietnam, to the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan. These are inspiring accounts that transcend the explainable to become portraits of survival and belief. The message affirmed for readers is the power of faith in the face of adversity. Please join us on Monday, August 21 at 10:00 a.m. in 100 West. Dr. Wilson served in the United States Air Force from 1953–1979.
