MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDY

September 6, 11:00 a.m., Chapel & 6:00 p.m., Social Hall
Join us on Wednesdays as we discover biblical truths that undo common misconceptions and sayings we may have accepted as truths. During the semester, Pastor David (and several other Dawson Ministry Staff members) will shed light on what the Bible actually teaches us. Some topics include:

  • God Helps Those Who Help Themselves
  • God Won’t Put More On You Than You Can Bear
  • When God Shuts A Door, He Opens A Window
  • Christians Shouldn’t Judge
  • Everything Happens For A Reason
  • Time Heals All Wounds

Please join us as we discover what the Bible really says about these topics.

August Memory Verse

Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

Alice Harris Celebrates 30th Anniversary at Dawson

For 30 years, Alice Harris has served faithfully as Dawson’s Church Receptionist. Alice loves the people of Dawson, and she is beloved by our church family. If you have called or visited the Church Office, Alice’s voice is the first you hear and, in most cases, the first face you see. Alice loves talking with everyone she greets each day, and is dedicated in all she does in her role. Alice seems to know everyone and has her finger on the pulse of all of the activities of the church. Her gentle spirit and helpful attitude truly reflect our mission of being a “faithful servant of Jesus Christ.”

Alice is not only a long time employee of Dawson, but also a faithful church member involved in other ministries. She served as Director of the Harris Sunday School department for many years and actively participates in her ladies Life Group. She served faithfully as a Stephen Minister for many years and now serves as a greeter on Sunday mornings. Alice has three daughters, Leisha, Allison, and Shannon, and two grandchildren, Harris and Natalie. We are thankful that God brought Alice to Dawson and congratulate her on 30 years of faithful service!

At Dawson, we believe church membership matters. That’s why we have created a new opportunity for all new members and guests called Membership Matters. We will take a close look at our vision & mission statements, our Doctrinal Foundation, and ongoing discipleship and mission opportunities available for all members to become involved. The next Membership Matters class is Sunday, September 10 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Please register HERE. Reservations are required and lunch will be served.
