What's Happening

MIDWEEK BIBLE STUDY

Wednesdays, 11:00 a.m., Chapel & 6:00 p.m., Social Hall
Join us on Wednesdays as we discover biblical truths that undo common misconceptions and sayings we may have accepted as truths. During the semester, Pastor David (and several other Dawson Ministry Staff members) will shed light on what the Bible actually teaches us. Some topics include:

  • God Helps Those Who Help Themselves
  • God Won’t Put More On You Than You Can Bear
  • When God Shuts A Door, He Opens A Window
  • Christians Shouldn’t Judge
  • Everything Happens For A Reason
  • Time Heals All Wounds

Please join us as we discover what the Bible really says about these topics.

HELP NEEDED WITH SUNDAY & WEDNESDAY PARKING

Church family, please help us accommodate our guests and those who need close-proximity parking when coming to Dawson each week. As we gather for church on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, would you please park in our Parking Building that is directly across from our Sanctuary on Oxmoor Road where there is ample parking for everyone? Parking there will leave the spaces that are closer to our church buildings available for guests who are navigating their way around our campus and for our senior adults who may have mobility concerns. Additionally, we ask that you please take note of the areas that are specifically designated for guests, handicapped spaces, senior adults, and our Hearts and Hands Families. These areas are clearly marked with signage.

Another way to be a good neighbor to those who live around the church is to avoid parking along curbs on streets adjacent to the church. We greatly appreciate your help.

Volunteers are needed from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and the second Saturday of each month. For more information or to volunteer, please email Jeannie Rice at jcwrice@bellsouth.net.

SEPTEMBER BOOK REVIEW Monday, September 18, 10:00 am, Social Hall

Kristen Torres will review Prayers from the Heart by Richard Foster, along with selections from other all-time favorite books of prayer, and she will share their impact on her own life. In the introduction to Prayers from the Heart, the author writes: "My whole life, in one sense, has been an experiment in how to be a portable sanctuary, learning to practice the presence of God in the midst of the stresses and strains of contemporary life."

During the presentation, Kristen will offer pockets of prayer experiences to help us learn to practice the presence of God in our daily lives. For more information, please contact Tommy Sanders.
