Year End Contributions

Stock Gifts: Giving That Goes Further

Appreciated stock is a good way to contribute to the church, because capital gains taxes are not assessed. You can transfer your stock electronically by contacting the church Finance Office at 205-871-7324.

Seniors Can Save Taxes with an IRA Charitable RMD

Transfer your IRA assets via a tax provision which allows direct distributions to the church by April 1 following the year in which you turn age 72 (70½ if you reach the age of 70½ before Jan. 1, 2020) and by December 31 of later years. The transfer counts toward the donor’s Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), but does not increase the donor’s taxable income, thereby helping to reduce income taxes. Please talk to your tax advisor and IRA Administrator about how to make a charitable rollover.

Christmas at Dawson

CANDLELIGHT AT DAWSON

For more than 40 years, people have come to Dawson for the beautiful experience of worship led by the Sanctuary Choir & Orchestra and Combined Student Choirs. You will hear about the joy that God gave us with the birth of His son, Jesus, through Candlelight at Dawson. Culminating with the candlelit singing of Silent Night, these evenings of worship are anticipated each year by our community, making it a perfect time to invite a teacher, neighbor, or friend. This year there will be three worship opportunities:

Friday, December 15 at 6:30 p.m.
Saturday, December 16 at 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, December 17 at 5:00 p.m.

Doors open 45 minutes prior to the service.
