Dawson Celebrates Amy Turnbow for 20 Years of Service

February 16, 2024 marks 20 years of faithful service for our Director of Hospitality, Amy Turnbow. During her time at Dawson, Amy has significantly contributed to our church family. On a weekly basis, Amy is responsible for planning and executing all events on Dawson’s campus, and even some off campus. Amy also diligently maintains the church’s weekly calendar, working with other ministry teams to ensure successful events. She is our first point of contact for weddings, and she leads our team of wedding coordinators in all aspects of planning at Dawson. Amy’s passion and dedication in using hospitality to impact lives allows Dawson to reach many people with warmth, compassion, and a heart for service. Outside of Dawson, you will find her enjoying time with her children and her new grandson, Jet! We are thankful that God led Amy to Dawson and look forward to many more years of her ministry. Please join us this week in expressing appreciation for Amy.

rest week 23 24 icon
Rest Week February 11, 2024

Resist the urge to do more. Meet with God to be restored. On Rest Weeks, Dawson College Ministry will pause all College events through the week (excluding Life Group). To rest is to create time and space for meditation on what the LORD has taught you and to practice the truth of our limits and dependence on God. God works when we are weary. Our “Rest Weeks” for the spring are the weeks of February 11, March 3, and March 31.

WHAT'S IN YOUR ATTIC?

Dawson will celebrate our 100-year anniversary in April 2025. As part of this celebration, we are looking for treasures and memorabilia to help us share the story of God’s faithfulness to Dawson over the last 100 years. Some things we are looking for include items from GAs (Girls in Action) such as crowns, scepters, and photographs, RAs (Royal Ambassadors) like badges, walking sticks, certificates, and photographs. Any certificates from Vacation Bible Schools, Sunday School Class photos, programs from choir tours or mission trips, and pictures from other camps or other events.

Please bring your items to the Church Office anytime during our regular weekday office hours. NOTE: In order for us to return these treasures, you must label all items with your name and phone number. For more information, please contact Jan Jones at janjones2436@gmail.com.
