Thanks for taking the time to explore what we have going on with college-age students at Dawson! By college-age, we mean anyone between the ages of 18 & 25, whether they are in college, the military, or working. Come check out what we have going on here at Dawson!

 

Worship

Sunday Mornings (Summer Schedule)
8:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. // Worship in the Sanctuary
9:45 a.m. // College Life Group in the Choir Room (3rd floor, North Building)

Dawson Worship services happen at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. During the summer months, we encourage college students to attend the 8:30 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. service and join us in the Choir Room at 9:45 a.m. for College Life Group. 

Tuesday Nights
AUXANO is our weeknight worship service for college students and young adults. It meets on Tuesdays during the semester at 7:00 p.m. in the Chapel on Dawson’s campus. We gather together every week to worship God through song, prayer, and the Word.

Spring: January 16, 2024—April 16, 2024

 

Discipleship

Life Group: Sunday Mornings (Summer Schedule)
This is a great way to meet other college-age students here in Birmingham and the surrounding area. We dive into the Word together each week and are led in a lesson by one of our College Life Group Leaders. College Life Group meets at 9:45 a.m. in the Choir Room and is led by Brian and Lacey Middleton, Jonathan and Kristi Kelley, and our college team.

Wednesday Night Church
There are many ways to get involved at Dawson throughout the week during the semester. First, join us at 5:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for Fellowship Supper (college students eat free!). You can then choose to serve in an age-group ministry, rehearse with the Sanctuary Choir or Orchestra, serve on the Kitchen Team, or join an intergenerational Bible Study at 6:00 p.m. Our college team will be in the Fellowship Hall and will rotate between the different ministries weekly to ensure you get to where you need to be.

Village: Wednesday Nights (Summer Schedule)
Village is a great opportunity to get a taste of the community here at Dawson during the semester. These groups meet every Wednesday night at 6:00 p.m. during the summer in a church member’s home. Come enjoy food with us at the beginning of our weekly time in the Word. For more information about group locations, please contact Cole Griffith.

During the semester, Village groups meet on Thursday nights. Village kickoff dates for the semester are as follows:

Fall: September 7, 2023—November 30, 2023
Spring: January 18, 2024—April 18, 2024

 

Service and Mission

Dawson's College Ministry is a ministry of service to the church, the community, and the world. Our college students are actively serving here in various ministries and with other organizations around the city. We also help to send college students on the numerous mission trips that our church offers each year.
