Together at Dawson

Join us on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary for a special concert celebrating the dedication of Dawson’s new Walker organ. Acclaimed concert organist Dr. Bradley Hunter Welch, Resident Organist of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, will present an inspiring evening of music and worship. Known for his artistry, virtuosity, and engaging performances, Dr. Welch will showcase the extraordinary beauty, color, and power of this magnificent new instrument. Custom designed by Walker Organs for Dawson’s renovated Sanctuary, the five-manual organ features 211 stops and 184 ranks, including main, antiphonal, celestial, string, and orchestral divisions. Its remarkable tonal range will support the worship and music of our congregation for generations to come. This dedication concert marks an exciting milestone in the life of our church. We invite you to experience the remarkable sound of our new Sanctuary organ as we celebrate God’s faithfulness and dedicate this instrument to His glory.

6th through 12th grade girls, pack your overnight bag, card games, Bible, and slippers because it’s time for CAMP! Join us for a true retreat away from the busyness of the fall semester at Camp Hargis where we’ll enjoy times of friendship, games, creating, worship, and fun! Volunteer Opportunities: This year, we are looking for College/Young Adult Leaders to come and serve as small group leaders. Moms, we want you to come and help with serving meals or helping with activities! Please apply as a potential volunteer or leader, and we will reach out.

Handmade & Handwritten is an opportunity for Dawson women to use their creativity and encouragement to bless others in meaningful ways. Wednesday evening meals return this fall! As we prepare to reopen our kitchen after the renovation, the first weeks of Wednesday meals will be catered from Panera. Adult meals are $10 and students are $5. Preschool kids are free. Please join us for this time of fellowship and know that your favorites will be back very soon! As always, we can use extra volunteers if you are looking for a place to serve.

Recently, CBS 42 (WIAT) dropped its CBS affiliation and rebranded as Alabama’s 42. On September 1, 2026, the station will officially become Alabama’s CW 42.
