Who We Serve

Children and their caregivers are referred by churches, schools, and social service organizations, which assess families based on their needs and financial situation. The referring agencies also handle appointment scheduling by calling (205) 616-9131. Appointments are available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and the second Saturdays of each month between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., and typically last about an hour.

Families can shop once every three months. Each infant and school-age child can receive several complete outfits, two books, and one toy. All items are provided at no cost.

Kids Connection tries to provide these gently used items:

• clothes, shoes, and socks
• coats, hats, and gloves
• books and toys
• baby blankets and crib- and twin-size sheets
