Scott Whitworth joined the Dawson Family of Faith as a member of the Facilities and Maintenance Team in August 2008 and transitioned to the role of Director of Facilities in October 2022. Scott currently lives in Alabaster. Born and raised in the Hoover area, Scott attended UAB to obtain certification as a Paramedic and the Alabama Fire College to obtain Firefighter certification. Scott has served with the Vestavia Hills Fire Department since June 2000 and is currently a Battalion Chief. Scott is certified as a Master Plumber and Gasfitter and previously operated a plumbing company along with his brother, David, and then independently. Scott has been married to his beautiful wife, Shannon, since June 2000, and they have 3 children together. His daughter, Hannah, graduated from UAB with a BSN-RN degree and is currently working as an ER nurse at Children's Hospital. His son, Chase, is a Senior at Mississippi State University, pursuing a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies degree with a focus in Religion. He hopes to pursue a career as a Youth Minister. His youngest daughter, Avery, attends Alabaster City Schools. Scott’s passion is his family, and he loves spending time with them: hiking, mountain biking, playing pickleball, and taking trips. He also enjoys music and concerts of many types, and going to the gym.
