Shannon serves as the Dawson Music Academy Ministry Assistant. Shannon loves serving children and their families and has a passion for affirming the musical talents unique to each student. Shannon is a long time Dawson member and has served in various Dawson ministries over the years, specifically sharing her teaching skills with the Dawson Preschool and Kids Ministries and teaching with the Dawson Day School. Before joining the Music & Worship Team, Shannon worked as an educator, specializing in early intervention as well as general and special education in public schools. Shannon studied at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education as well as a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Special Education. Shannon met her husband, Marshall, at Dawson and cherishes her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother.
