Sunday Morning Life Groups
Sunday morning Life Groups will resume on campus on Sunday, January 24, 2021. Preparation is being made to provide an on-campus Life Group experience for preschool, children, students, college students, and adults. The following are details pertaining to how each age-group will resume on-campus Life Groups on Sunday, January 24 for when you and/or your family are ready to return.
What this means for DPM Families: Dawson's Preschool Ministry Staff is excited to resume our “two-hour schedule” for preschoolers, which includes our preschool parents serving as Excel Volunteers on a rotating basis. Preschoolers may attend 8:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. or 9:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. programming while their parents are on campus and engaged in Bible Study and Worship. Reservations are requested and can be made at dawsonchurch.org/stayconnectedDPM. We will continue to offer online Sunday morning preschool worship videos as well.
What this means for DK Families: Dawson Kids Life Groups will meet at 9:45 a.m. in graded classrooms in the Dawson Kids’ area. Reservations are required and children will be assigned classrooms before each Sunday and parents will be notified through email. We still need at least 15 more volunteers to commit to serve with other veteran dk Investors. Please contact Danielle Bell at dbell@dawsonchurch.org if you are available to serve with the Dawson Kids Life Group Team.
What this means for Hearts & Hands Families: Hearts & Hands Buddies are available by reservation at 8:30 a.m., 9:45 a.m., and 11:00 a.m. The Hearts & Hands rooms are also open for family use. Please contact our Hearts & Hands Coordinator Ruth Ann Turner at rturner@dawsonchurch.org for availability.
What this means for Students: Student Life Groups will meet at 9:45 a.m. in the Student Ministry Area on the 3rd Floor of the Arendall Building. We will continue to have an online Life Group option as well.
What this means for College Students: The College Life Group will meet Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. in the FRC Gym. College students are encouraged to participate in the 9:45 a.m. Worship Service and then attend College Life Group afterward.
What this means for Adults: Adult Life Group teachers and leaders continue to coordinate with the adult Discipleship Staff to evaluate and determine the best time and venue for their group to meet. Due to the many factors to consider (i.e. children, group size, and risk tolerance), adult Life Groups have a variety of options available for meeting in the coming weeks and months. For more information or to explore options for you or your group contact Discipleship Ministry Associate, Liz Cuenin at lcuenin@dawsonchurch.org or Discipleship Pastor, Jim Gifford at jgifford@dawsonchurch.org. Many groups will continue to meet virtually, while some may choose to meet on Sunday or Wednesday evening, or during the week on-campus.
Please Help Minimize the Spread of Covid-19
As we prepare to resume in-person worship services and Life Groups we recognize the spread of COVID-19 is significantly impacting more of our members and community. We continue to ask all adults and children (1st grade and older) who attend worship and/or a Life Group to wear a mask or other face-covering at all times. If you have any symptoms of illness, please do not attend. Enhanced facility cleaning, expanded air filtration, and other mitigation strategies have been implemented at Dawson to provide a safe environment for all ministry areas, Life Groups, and worship. Throughout every challenge of the last 10 months, our congregation has risen up time and time again with prayerful resolve. Once again, we need your help. During this season of increasing hospitalizations, these measures will allow us to continue meeting together in-person each week. We covet your prayers and ask for your continued grace as together we navigate the days ahead.
