Sermon Title: The Privilege Of Prayer

Scripture:  Philippians 1:3–11

 

This week, Pastor David continued the sermon series from the book of Philippians with a look at the pattern of prayer that Paul lays out.

 

1.    A Prayer Of Thanksgiving (vv. 3–5)

2.    A Prayer Of Confidence (v. 6)

3.    A Prayer Of Growth (vv. 9–11)

 

Going Deeper:

  • When you pray, like Paul, “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you…”, who comes to mind? How have those people helped you in your growth as a Christian?
  • Pastor David defined “koinonia” as a partnership or a camaraderie between believers. Do you have this kind of partnership with other believers? If not, what is one step you can take this week to develop that type of camaraderie?
  • In Philippians 1:6, Paul expresses his confidence in God completing His work in the lives of the believers at Philippi. Pastor David shared that this world is littered with unfinished projects but heaven is not. Have you allowed God to start His work in you? 
  • How can your love grow in “knowledge and discernment” (Philippians 1:9)? How does that continued growth encourage you in your journey of faith?
