Sermon Title: The Enduring Gospel

Scripture:  Philippians 1:12–18

  

This week, Pastor David continued the sermon series from the book of Philippians. In this passage, we see that Paul sees God has a purpose even in the midst of his pain. Paul shared that, because of his imprisonment, the whole imperial guard had heard the Gospel (v. 13) and that others were more bold in sharing their faith (v. 14).

  

Going Deeper:

 

  • Think about a time when the circumstances of your life didn’t go as planned. How did you respond?
  • Pastor David said that Paul could see his imprisonment as a platform for the spread of the Gospel. What difficulty are you facing right now that God could use to draw others to Him? 
  • How are you encouraged by knowing that God has a providential purpose when our plans are changed or derailed? Explain.
  • What excuse(s) are you making for not sharing your faith? What is one step you can take to share this week?
