Sermon Title: Cultivated In His Character: Self-Control

Scripture: Galatians 5:22–24

This week, Pastor David concluded the sermon series, Cultivated In His Character, with a message from Galatians 5:22–24. Specifically, he noted:

1.    Our Need For Self-Control

2.    Our Display Of Self-Control

Going Deeper:

  • How does self-control break the pattern of the other fruits of the Spirit that we have examined in this series? (See 1 John 1:5.) How does the Holy Spirit enable you to practice self-control?
  • What work(s) of the flesh tend to show up in your life when you are not walking consistently in the Spirit?
  • According to Colossians 3:5, we are to put our earthly desires to death. Are you fighting for purity in your own life and delighting in the purity of God? Explain.
  • Pastor David shared that as Christians, our lives should look different than non-Christians. What do you need to confess and surrender to Jesus so that the Holy Spirit can cultivate His fruit in you?
