Sermon Title: This Is The Morning After

Scripture: Lamentations 17–24

This week, Dr. Bill Johnston, Dawson’s Associate Pastor, shared the last message of 2021. We looked at:

Going Deeper:

  • Think about the faith challenges that you have faced this year. How have you been encouraged by Jeremiah’s words: "His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."? (Lamentations 3:22–23).
  • In what way(s) have you found yourself “conformed to this world” (Romans 12:1–2)? How can you learn to live daily receiving from God the mercies needed for that day? How does God’s mercy lead you toward transformation? Explain.
  • Dr. Johnston shared that we have the message that there IS a morning after to tell our world that cries out for it in this present darkness. Who do you need to share the good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection with in the coming weeks?
  • As this Advent season comes to a close, where are you placing your hope–Jesus, the bright morning star, or someone/something else? As you look to the new year, what spiritual disciplines can you begin practicing that will help you learn to trust Him more deeply/fully?
