Look To Him

John 1:1–8

This week, Pastor David continued the Advent sermon series, “Became.”  We looked at Jesus as the source and giver of Life. Specifically, we looked at:

1.   Jesus Is The Source Of True Life

2.   Jesus Is Our Great Light

• Light Reveals
• Light Attracts
• Light Guides

GOING DEEPER:

• In verse 4, John uses the images of “life” and “light” to describe Jesus. Describe what we learn about why Jesus had to come to earth from those images.
• Unlike our artificial Christmas lights, Jesus’ light is never burned out or extinguished. How are you encouraged by that truth?
• Pastor David shared that we celebrate Christmas and the birth of the Jesus because we have a sin problem that leaves us spiritually dead and in spiritual darkness. How does Jesus, as life and light, solve our sin problem? Have you received Jesus’ gift of life? Why or why not?
• As believers, we have the same task as John the Baptist–to reflect and reveal Jesus to those around us. What is one way you can point others to Jesus this week?
