Acts: Empowered

Acts 3

This week, Pastor David continued the sermon series on the book of Acts. We saw:

  1. A Transformative Miracle, verses 1–10
  2. A Transformative Message, verses 11–21

GOING DEEPER:

  • While many people passed the lame man daily, Peter and John slowed down, saw him, and had compassion on him. What everyday needs around you are easy for you to turn your gaze away from?
  • Pastor David highlighted Acts 3:16 where Peter said it was through the name of Jesus that this miracle happened. Faith in the name of Jesus is the power for all we do as Christians. When are you tempted to rely on your own resources/gifts/abilities instead of the name of Jesus?
  • Pastor David shared that God is still at work in us and through us. Who do you need to slow down and see this week? How can you help someone else feel seen and understood?
  • Just like the man who was lame, our greatest needs are not physical but spiritual. Peter and John healed the man in the name of the only one who can meet our deepest needs, Jesus. Who might you share Jesus with this week?

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
