Sermon Title: Hope For The Uncertain Heart

ScripturePsalm 46

This week, Pastor David continued the sermon series from selected Psalms. Specifically, he shared:

  • In the midst of my uncertainty, God is with me.
  • In the midst of my uncertainty, God is still in control.

Going Deeper:

  • While God is in control in the midst of all our uncertainty, we often live as if our security rests completely with us. What “chaos” in the world or in your life tempts you to doubt that God is in control of all things?
  • What does the present verb tense in verses 1, 7 and 11 indicate about God, even in the midst of uncertainty? How does the truth of God’s present reality in your life give you courage?
  • What changes do you need to make this week to live out the challenge of Psalm 46:10 (to trust Him, acknowledge Him, and believe God is always with you and in control)?

Additional Information:

Matthew 28:20

May the LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. ~ Numbers 6:24–26
