Living In The Light Of His Return

1 Thessalonians 5:1–11

 

This week, Pastor David continued the sermon series from 1 Thessalonians with a look at Paul’s words about Christ’s return. We were reminded to:

 

1. Be Assured Of Christ’s Return (vv. 1–5)
2. Be Alert Until Christ’s Return (vv. 6–11)

 GOING DEEPER:

• Pastor David said that Jesus’ second coming is like a sunrise: you can’t hurry it and you can’t stop it.  How are you encouraged by the promise of Christ’s return?
• Think about the differences between Christ’s first and second coming. Why are those differences significant?
• When are you most tempted to “sleepwalk” through your spiritual life? How can you resist that temptation and make your spiritual life a priority?
• If Jesus returned today, would you be ready? If not, are you willing to trust Him today?
