Men's Basketball League
Dawson's Recreation Ministry is crazy about basketball! The Men's Basketball League gives men of all ages an opportunity, twice a year (Fall & Spring), to participate in open league basketball. Grab your friends and/or co-workers and register as a team. Spots are limited.
The Dawson Men’s League is made up of OPEN DIVISION teams. There will be a Tuesday night league (made up of 12 OPEN division teams) and also a Thursday night league (made up of 12 OPEN division teams). When registering, each team must choose to play on Tuesday OR Thursday night. If you are looking for a team to join, email Kasey Hagen at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be forming a team to play on Tuesday nights through Dawson Recreation.
The league abides by the current Basketball Official Series written and published by the National Federation of State High School Atheltic Association with some additions and changes stated (Please see the downloadable Format of the League & General Rules at the bottom of the page).

Question and Answers for COVID Safety Protocols
How will the jerseys be handled with regards to the COVID protocols?
The jerseys will be washed and sanitized prior to each game. We have enough to keep the rotation of cleaning safe for all. Jersey's will be ready for everyone before their game in a sanitized box. Afterward, each player will throw their jersey's in a designated laundry basket.
What will bench space and social distancing look like as well as sanitization between games?
We will have plenty of bench space for people to spread out using benches and chairs utilizing the corners of the gym. We will also not be allowing spectators to start out so that we can limit the people in the gym. All benches and seats will be sterilized in-between games. We use a chemical called virex to sterilize everything. We are not going to be doing temperature checks but asking people to be wise and prudent with their own health before being around others.
How will we know when we can enter the facilities?
We are asking each team to wait to enter Dawson Recreation until five minutes before game time. We will have a texting system setup for Tuesday and Thursday leagues. Information on how to sign up for this will be emailed to all those who register. This will put you in our texting system we can send to everyone to make them aware of when to come in and changes/issues to the schedule. Also, everyone will enter through the main doors and will need to exit out the back doors.
What happens if we have to shut down or cancel for any reason?
If we see that there is a spike in COVID numbers or need to shut down/cancel for whatever reason (COVID or inclement weather) we will reschedule or postpone. If we were to have to close down indefinitely, then we will refund in full if it is before the season starts or prorated if after.
